What do you think of the following mirror tv video?

Yes its fake! lol – but in reality it would look a whole lot better!

It would seem that mirror tv’s and waterproof/pool/underwater tv’s are becoming a merged category. On a quick scan around the different pool tv sellers you can tell that a lot of the tv’s built into the side of swimming pools’ and outside in gardens (waterproof tv’s) are in fact by default mirror tvs. This is kinda cool but it does highlight the market for mirror tv’s is definitely that of a luxury rich lifestyle. By nature of being in the market for an underwater television for your swimming pool you will have a bit of disposable income. But is it a good idea to buy one of these garden safe televisions for use within the house?

Simply put we would say no. While these tv’s are often mirror tvs available as a single unit – they are usually waterproof and as a result much more expensive than your standard flat screen tv. Inside your house you are unlikely to need as much waterproofing around your tv as you are in your garden, of course if you are after a television to put into your bathroom this might still be a valid way of putting one in! Whether or not its a good idea is of course relative to your situation, these external garden tv’s are good – but expensive!

Its been ages since we last heard about the latest phillips mirror tv and guess what? Still we are waiting. The philips mirror tv appears no more on the horizon than it did months ago – with the mirrored television market still ticking over and plenty of mirror  tv kits and mirrored tv’s being sold it would seem that phillips are not actively pursuing the idea of a mass market mirror tv, or are they? We havent been able to find out and worldwide it seems that the stock of philips mirror tv’s appears to remain out of stock and unavailable – which is a shame as the phillips miravision mirrored television should be huge – A quality flat screen of 42″ hidden behind a mirror!

We, as ever will keep you posted on the status of the philips mirror tv but theres not much promising news at the moment – if we can get phillips to give us a statement or find another big manufacturer who is showing positive signs you will be the first to know! But its not all doom and gloom – if you check our mirror tv section you will see theres still a large number of mirrored tv’s that are still being manufacturered, all-be-it by non brand names and in mirror tv kit form.

Theres been months since a post, freewheeling though mirror tv’s are it would seem some micro projector technology is flying! They can now make a handheld projector with a resolution of 1024 x800 – thats INSANE!!!
Sorry for the random post but I saw this about high resolution pico projector embedded stuff and I was just blown away! its as big as a dudes finger!!!

Spotted on youtube the Raymura mirror tv looks to be one of the most stylish solutions for mirror tv’s currently available (there are not many good producers of mirror television systems at this point!) Check out thier promotional video below, it seems to show a very large mirrored television built into a wall of mirror’s – also a more traditional ornate mirror that is presumably also a flat screen tv. From what you see in the video (mostly promotional words) the tv’s look pretty good but we haven’t heard anything about them other than this.

The mirror tv video is explained as “Relying on a simple yet revolutionary technology, raymura conceals wall-mounted TV screens, either plasma or LCD, behind a unique mirror concept which renders a pitch-perfect picture. Watching television, whether it is turned ON or OFF remains a pleasure.” – we cant wait to see more details on these but this new swiss hidden tv company looks to be making good developments in the concealed mirror tv market.
